I've always wondered if blogs actually make any money at all?

It depends on what type of blog it is, How are you monetizing it.
 
Yes, whether it be Ads, Affiliate Marketing, CPA Marketing. Blogging does make money, it's just about how much money does it make. I've ran multiple blogs and they all made money but monetized in different ways.
 
Well yea they are many people who earn a life changing imcome with their blogs and they live their dreams because of just blogging income but making income with a blog its not so easy as you need a lot of patience ,consistency etc
 
Yes, blogs can make money through ads, affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, and selling products or services, but it takes time and consistent effort to see results.

It always depends on how good you are on advertisments etc when you have the traffic :-) so yes, in general you can stil make good money with it.
