Hi,

So recently i've seen people saying backlinks are a big factor when trying to rank on youtube? I thought backlinks was for getting your video ranked on youtube?
Can anyone confirm that backlilnks help ranking on youtube?

Beven said it pretty well, backlinks are only good for ranking in G and not in YT

Backlinks for YouTube videos are much more beneficial when trying to rank those videos in Google.

For ranking simply on YouTube HR views, likes, comments and channel authority play a much bigger role.

I couldn't agree more.

Get backlinks to your YT url using blog commenting.
Your videos will rank in Google Serps

i just have a feeling that all of this backlink and tricks are a bunch of hype. for 2 years i tried and made almost nothing on youtube. now, i am making some serious cash. over the past 5 months i have gone from making $100 a month to where i will now clear 4k this month. i have been shitting my pants. the only thing i do is put in a good description and maybe tweet it. i never buy views. i never buy backlinks. the only thing i do is sometimes tweet and sometimes put them on reddit or something.

i will say that out of my over 2k videos, 95% of the revenue comes from maybe 10. however, the ones that make the money i did nothing for. they get tons of comments though and have great retention. so i am guessing that is key. hell, one crappy top 10 video i put up is now going to make over $200 for the fourth month in a row.

also, i now get 40 or more subscribers every day so things just keep going up. i guess this isnt any advice other than to stick with it.

Backlinks are the most important thing, especially in hard niches. Also, competitors will have harder time deleting your video.

Are you using CPA/PPD or Adwords for monetizing?

What niches are you using? Whitehat i think because your videos have many good comments and subs as you said. Am i right?

i am not using anything on them. my videos are all legit and not really designed specifically to sell stuff. however, i feel if i added something like that, i might make even more. i hate not being able to totally capitalize. for the 21st of december, i had my best day. i made $250 through my four accounts just from adsense

yea, mine is all white hat. i dont have any fake comments, suuuuubs or likes at all. my biggest account so far this year has 1550 likes, 1700 comments and 700 new subs. it has made $1550 for the month through the 23rd. however, 6 videos are responsible for the vast majority of the earnings.

Backlinks are important if you want to rank the video in Google but Youtube itself looks for video likes and viewer retention span (how many minutes of your video are being watched per viewer) to rank your video in the YouTube search.

Yes backlinks help but I prefer social bookmarks. Bookmark hero is a very affordable service that works quite well, I used it on a new video and got 7,000 views faster than any other video I have uploaded.
