Do backlinks from forums still worthy?

What you think I am stupid?
I have done this before. And I posted on several forums not just one. But since Google changed their algorithms, thinks are going different on these days. We are not in 2006 anymore.

Dude... All we can do is go by what you post in this thread. You said ONE forum.

Irregardless... Forum backlinks work. Stop making them if you're simply going to argue the point. LOL.

Nobody gives a SHIT.

Yeah whatever. Either way this is a blackhat forum. What else I can find here besides of spammer techniques?

Again, you're OBVIOUSLY new at this... There are PLENTY of outstanding techniques on creating backlinks here. Most of the techniques are of course Blackhat... You are on BHW. LOL. But there are a lot of good whitehat techniques here too and it seriously doesn't take much to tweak a blackhat technique into a whitehat technique.

But if all you're going to do is bitch and moan about what you find here and what we share with you, then hit the road.

I'm done.

I am here to learn pal. Not everything paints white in the world, so a little from here and from there is helpful. The first site I promoted three years ago, I did all make it easy. Yes, I did a lot of forum posting on related sites. My keyword was on 135 position, and kept up a month of hardwork until it reached top 20. And this keyword was very competitive on my website niche, now my website is on top spots. Even though, I started new websites in order to get more $$$$$ and I promoted them on the same way. I could achieve highrankings for those sites, but what happened? suddenly they were dropped down on 2009 Google algorithm change. So from having a healthy pagerank of 4 and 5 they were dropped to 0. Google discounted all links: blog comments, forum signatures and more. The first site stand and still because it got natural links, and it still getting natural links, but the new ones could not stay on top because Google did not give a chance to reach the natural linking process.

So I have doubts about all old linking building techniques(blog comment, forum signatures, etc...). So you guys are having success with this technique I guess I must give a try. However, I have asked on other webmaster forums and they think different. So .... I am still confused.

Seriously? There's a HUGE amount of information on this forum for both black and white hat SEO. I mean, did you miss the whole white hat section or what?

But don't expect people to spoon feed you or hold your hand because that doesn't go over well.

Do not take me wrong I am just confused and desperate. I hate my job I really want to earn real money online. My family needs to be fed and I do not want to take a wrong step.

they still work. you just have to work on quality and quantity.

I'd add one more string on that which is diversity. Link diversity is also very important too, and often overlooked even by experience IM'ers

This is why people do all kinds of blog comments and then can't understand why they suddenly got dropped out of SERPs and sandboxed. They then blame it on some site that they think maybe looked spammy, or maybe it was low in PR.. or maybe this or that... You got to have different types of links.. you got to! Forums, blogs, wikis, POS (plain old sites), aggrirators, social bookmarks, directories and so on.

Agree with you, it's just a matter to make it look natural.

I do not want to take a wrong step.

You WILL take a wrong step on occasion. It's called being human. No one is successful 100% of the time. What will determine your success is how you deal with your failures. If you analyze what went wrong and learn from your mistakes you'll come out harder and better on your next project. But, if you're so afraid of making a mistake that you never take the first step you'll never get anywhere.

Learning from others is great but you will only really learn by doing it yourself. Most people spend a lot of time on trial and error before they come up with their system and few systems will work the same for every project they're tried on. So what might work for project A may not work for project B but the only way you will know is by trying.

Profile Links Still Worth a Lot i usually do them whenever your profile link get indexed or the thread in which u post gets indexed u will get a backlink :D

How many forums do you post on a day? How many links? How many times a week?

dude ,,, signatures are for referrals.

check your analytics it will tell you, for example, and by the way I am a little wary of sharing this as I know there are a lot of haters out there that purposefully try and fu^k things up.

I had a signature on expatforum.com like a 800x120 px, this was going real good until they decided they didn't like this so invented a new rule especially to make me stop posting this. It was amazing! every time I posted an answer to someones problem they got my reply then a MASSIVE banner pointing to a client of mine, all for $99 bucks for 6-months

I got 30 leads within 2-days which is pretty good, what I am saying was that people had adsense on there the same size and were paying, anyway needless to say it got f77ked, I had to reduce it to 460x60, it's still worth it though.

It's there forum there rules, same as here. Check it out if you want the user name is : Captain Planet - url: http://www.expatforum.c)m

you see how smaller it is? it used to fill the whole bottom.

Like i said referrals, they are all mostly no-follow anyway, and even if they're not remember IP diversity - rule number uno

Awesome example! Sorry your juicy steak turned into ground beef. :)

seriously when I first did it I was laughing for the whole two days, they invented the rule just because of what I did, maybe should have done it smaller

When you say its still worth it. What was the difference in traffic you noticed between the two size banners?

I'll let you know

at the moment it's all psychological,

life's so unfair, like I said they INVENTED a new rule just to take me off there and came back saying ',,,,blah blah blah several vistors have complained, ,,,causing problems with loading.'

only two visitors to my profile were admin, I found something and they didn't like it. But it's still a good deal, you don't think?

Look at each post asking specifically about the service I am referring, then look at the post views

Yeah.. for your target market its a good media buy. It does suck that they changed like that, but for 6 months that's a price you can't beat if you are in front of your market.
