I'm completely new at this, but do mobile apps have to be hosted, like how websites have to be hosted on a server like HostGator.

I'm looking at a few 3rd party app creators like Appery.io, AppMakr, and BiznessApps, and for these paid services, there is a monthly few and I'm not sure if it's actually hosted on their server or something?

What about if we build it ourselves from scratch in Eclipse, will we still need to host it somewhere like our normal website hosts? Or there is no hosted involved nor necessary and only need the APK folder and submit it to AppStore and that's it?

You dont need to host the app, you just have to submit it on playstore/itunes.

Sure, but you need to have a developer account which costs money.

It depends on the app, because in some cases you might have to store data or assets on your own server.
