Well in reality, I know a plugin isn't gonna do a detailed vulnerability scan, but I just want to know.

Are all these plugins that good?
here is a list of what I use

WSD Security
Block bad queries (BBQ)
Wordpress firewall 2
Wordpress login security 2
WP security scan

Used to use word fence. Lol that plugin

But my site used to be real zippy when I used to go on.
now it takes about 5 seconds+ because it almost checks everyone like they are a bot. 5 seconds to get on first, but after, the site is super fast.
can anyone recommend I delete these, or what I do for security in general.

I just like to keep secure from vulnerablitys, and don't know if I should hire someone professional to tweak up my site?
Thanks guys!

5 secs to get to index can not be. Don't care what you do else but that has to stop.
Don't know most plugins you mentioned but why laugh at wordfence?

Yeah, I'll deactivate some and see what happens.
wordfence broke when Wordpress 3.5 came out, it never loaded, even after removing it and all it's settings, and reinstalling it 5-10 times.
Then the caching freaked out, and overloaded my server enough to almost get me suspended. It was taking up more than 25 threads in my CPU.

Now I removed it, and try and reinstall it, and it says the directory still exists, when it's completely gone.

Perhaps you would like to try wpOptimix?

I have used it and it is fast and it is always constantly updated.

Hope it helps. :)

I havent used any of them personally, but my question is , are they really neccessary. I do use spam fighting plugins like the inbuilt akismet, which works fine.

I feel some form of security is necessary as wordpress can be hacked quite easily. It has become more secure but do you want to take a chance if it is your business ? Would you have a retail premises without a burglar alarm or security system ?

You might not think your website would interest a hacker but if they can access your server they will cause you all sorts of problems. Hackers send out bots to find unsecured wordpress sites. With wordfence, it emails me every-time an attempt is made. Recently one of my sites has had 5 to 50 attempts a day. (and that site is sh*t)

Yeah, that is true. I'll try to reinstall it I guess :)
