Do all proxies carry viruses?

I was using proxies in No hands SEO and like every 10 secs. my AV was blocking shit [I love MBAM

]. Help? Does anybody have any non-virus proxies?

Proxies cannot contain viruses. It is most likely a blacklisted IP that Malwarebytes is trying to protect you from.

Do you even know how viruses work? They can only be binded to .exe, .pdf, .msi, .bat, or .scr files. It was probably the proxy scraper you didn't scan before you installed.

Just a guess, but AVG could have been detecting the websites you were posting to.

This happens all the time with No Hands SEO, proxies or not. As download said, it's the sites you're posting to, not your proxies that are triggering AVG.

I am. I'm running it in VMWare player with W7 basic without VMTools and using a NAT connection. Is my host machine still at risk for viruses? I even have Avast! on the VM.

A proxy could rewrite the html of each page fetched to trigger a trojan installation. So if you're using automation software that utilizes a browser component that executes javascript or ActiveX then you could theoretically indirectly get a trojan from a proxy. There are also Flash 0-days that allow invisible rooting.

I wasn't snapping then but I'll snap now. If you'll look closely the ! was in quotes, meaning that that was what avast! (<---- See? an exclamation mark doesn't always imply I'm yelling at you) was saying. Not me yelling at you.

LOL, don't talk down to me. I have been through tech support, and I couldn't tell you how much I had to put up with working there. As far as your analogy goes, how does that apply to me? Did I tell him to get lost? No, I gave him more information so hopefully in the future he won't have to ask the same question again. Now get off my nuts, and learn to spell and use correct grammar before trying to make up irrelevant analogies.
