do all americansuse laundry?

hey guys
i see in lots of film that americans use laundry services all the time for money

do americans really do that?

i live in Russia everyone has their own washing machine and do all the laundry at home and don't pay money for that (there some laundry services but actually very very few people use them)

is it different in US?

If you are speaking about Al Capone washing machines then all use them

The vast majority of people here use machines in their homes. The only people who don't are those who live in tiny apartments in big cities.

Americans wash their cloths in the house unless you don't have a washer then you go to the laundry place and do it there.

People there have no 2-3 hour of time, they work sometimes 2-3 jobs to make it out.

I live in Bosnia and people here still wash clothes with bare hands at home.

In London no one can afford a washing machine, or so you would think if you watched Eastenders.

Why?? .... are there people that wash cloths in the world??

It just happens that many of the tv shows and movies are set in L.A. and NYC were apartments are small for affordable prices.

I use the washing machine my home now but when I was younger (in college) I would use a laundry service. That was because the apartment complex I lived in didn't have washers at all and it was easier to drop my laundry off than sit at the laundry mat. The place I used wasn't very expensive.

Depends where you look at. Cities like NYC lot of complexes do not allow washer but have laundry in the bulding (they sure need some extra money with those cheap rents lol)

I always wished I had the money to start a "grocery shopping" service. I fucking hate grocery shopping and would pay someone to do it for me. I bet there are a lot of lazy rich housewives who would do the same.

At least in LA, most apartment complexes have a laundry room or two per floor. There are however apartments with laundry in their own place.
Houses, I presume they have in their own home.

NY has fresh direct, amazon fresh on the westcoast etc. So they are already in limited big metro markets(probably other services too).

Interesting. I live in the suburbs of Miami and we don't have it. Rich area but not as dense in population. I wish we had something around here.

We have a cool food delivery service where they will pick up any dinner at any restaurant. It's expensive though. What will cost you maybe $15 at a restaurant will cost you $30 for delivery. Still though, cool service.

Yeah delivery guys I think is what you mentioned . Think it is like $5 or so, not something I am interested in either. So the place either has delivery or I just don't order (or just go there to eat)/

What you have to remember is the dense population in say NY. That's why they ran ebay now (so order from select local store and they deliver within hours) and other services which they do not in FL. Everything in FL is rather far compared to distances (be it with more traffic in average).

Based on needing a car in FL most ppl drive so the target audience is so much smaller than in NYC. Furthermore, a lot of ppl in NY do not have regular/cheap grocery stores around so the premium these places charge are not so much more (if you buy at already high prices).

Damn, you don't have that? Over here, literally every supermarket lets you order online and they will deliver it on a day and time of your choice - you can even upload your shopping list and set a re-order for every week/month to have it delivered.

As well as this, there are services like Ocado.

And just recently to try and compete with the big boys, the local "mini-marts" and local grocery stores have started doing delivery. Order online/phone and have it delivered within the hour, pretty kick ass lol.

In answer to the @OPs question. I would say most Americans including myself do their own laundry. As previously mentioned if you live in a big city it can be hard to get a washer & dryer in your an apartment so you will either have to go to a laundromat (place where there are washers/dryers typically coin operated) or hire a laundry service. Although many apartments & apartment complexes have coin-operated laundry machines. Typically it will cost $1-$2 per load in the washer and then another $1-2 for use of the dryer.

In answer to someone else's question. I live on the East Coast (USA) at the moment and their are quite a few grovery delivery services. You basically create a list online (you can search all items available in store) and then you just check out and it will be delivered to your door either same day or within one business day ... basically they'll drop it off whenever you specificy. I've used this service in the past when I lived on the West Coast (USA) and it was very convienent and they had no fees so long as you met the minimum order. They even refused tip as the delivery man was forbidden from requesting or accepting a tip.

I also have a client who runs a grocery delivery service in the south and it's the same concept, they just charge a small delivery fee.

if ur single and in a small apt in a city like NY or LA you get your laundry done outside
