Hello friends,

I am running an ecommerce store since 3 years and I notice it is so hard to get it indexed and ranked these days.
Do Do aged domain names rank faster? And if so, where do you buy them?

Cheers!

In general yes aged domains perform better than new domains but since your website is already three years old you should be established and not need another domain name.

You can find aged domains in the marketplace (and watch the adverts below JrVIP members posts) but I do not think this is your problem, your domain is old enough.

I wish I could say I eat PHP and Javascript for breakfast :D - Guess coding is not my thing - yet! Could be a "girls" problem.

Aged domain typically has more authority coz of built backlinks over time. BUt if you have aged domain with no authority and backlinks, then no, it does not affect ranking in my opinion

of course not. you need constantly updated aged domain. google is smart and tracking the last content update date.

Old domain can have both authority and filters from search engines. Here you need experience in choosing. The free version is expireddomains, there are several paid ones, there are several auctions. Naturally, when choosing a domain, it is necessary to take into account its subject matter, the quality and quantity of links referring to the domain, and ideally, it is necessary to create a new domain structure according to the link addresses in order to have all the advantages of the old domain.

Yes if it has some authority, clean history and not penalized by Google.

A random aged domain that doesn't have any positive history won't do better than a new domain.

I bought an old domain last year that had decent metrics but the indexing speed was quite the same as with a new domain. So, depends on how good the domain was because not every old domain will get indexing faster.

Yes aged domain, expired domain have edge over new ones.

The thing to keep in mind here is it should be a recently expired domain.

These domains already have pages indexed so indexing is never any issue.

Plus if the link profile is good it saves a lot of linkbuildiñg headache & money.

That's why these domains cost a lot these days.

Yes and no.

Let me explain. IF you bought a domain in 2018 and did nothing with the website until now, then start uploading articles. Then it probably won't rank faster than anything else.

However, if you posted a few articles in 2018 & then came back to it, you'd have a slight edge. What somewhat matters in the way of domain age is earliest indexation.

The earliest a page on the website was indexed.

Depend on the domain, what kind of site in it before. what backlink it have, does it have bad track record or not.
but if you get good one than yeah, aged domain can make your site rank faster

Yes, aged domain helps in ranking faster due to their existing backlink profile.

Everyone is stuck on your domain, but our eyes should turn to indexing eCommerce sites.

As always, make sure your website is
  • Fast
  • Mobile-first
  • Interlinking
  • Accessible (image and link alts, etc)
This is all stuff Google looks at when ranking pages, and growing in importance every day.

Next, make it easy to index your eCommerce site
  • Descriptive product titles and descriptions (~100 words is enough)
  • List use-cases, materials, sizes/dimensions, any warnings, shipping/returns policies on product pages
  • Get products reviewed on blogs
  • Post videos with a product link or two in the description. Embed YT videos on product pages
  • Be active on Reddit and Twitter. Always aim to be helpful, but ready to sprinkle in links
  • Google Image SEO is great crawler food
  • If you built/build a brand, you can get on podcasts talking about your company. They post videos, blogs, and around the net

Usually aged domain rank faster than new ,,,but if the content and SEO of the site is weak and low quality then there is no difference between old and new,
It appears that, your domain is aged enough, so you should check & be careful about content, SEO and other things. ,,Hope you get the results very soon.

It is vital to note that the age of a domain is one of the several factors that search engines consider when ranking sites. While older domains may have some inherent benefits they do not guarantee faster rankings on their own.

Domain age alone doesn't guarantee faster ranking, it is only one of the factor for search engines like Google when ranking website. Overall ranking potential still depends on the strong and comprehensive SEO strategy including quality backlink, quality content, user engagement and etc.

I would see aged domaim like this:
Imagine a village with 5 houses. Those houses are build 5 years ago. And each of those 5 houses has something to sell to a visitor that comea to that village.

Google is a representative of those houses/stores. Google offers information for the visitor what is inside that house. And google shows information in front of that house what is inside so the visitor knows what he can get in that house.

Each house sells something. One house sells bread, second sells chocolate, third sells sugar, fourth sells salt and fifth sells potato.

You can see that each house has something to sell.
From each house there is a path to other houses with a label what is inside other house.

That is a way how visitor can understand what he can find in another house if he decide to go from one house to another.

This way the google knows what he can find in another house if he decide to go from one house to another.

If several houses has a label to one house with same label, lets say sugar, then the hoise with sugar will get lots of signals that it sells sugar.
And visitor and google will understand that that house sells sugar.

If many visitors go inside sugar hoise and if they stay there long time that will mean the house that sells sugar is a good solution for topic sugar.

Google remembers that.

THis analogy is the same for all other houses and the product they sell.

Imagine that sixt house is build in the village. That house sells wood.

Because it is a new house there is no labels pointing from other houses to that one. It is new one so none of the houaea cannot point visitora that they can find wood in that house.

In time as time passes visitors on their own enters i to the sixt house and spread the word what is inside. And this way the sixt house starts to spread words out.

And eventually other houses start to recommend the sixt hoise as a wood store.

When google sees that other houses that are long time in the village recommends new house as a wood provider he will accept their recommendation because of their credibility.

So the sixt house starts to get more visitors.

In this story:
Houses = domains(website)
Label = backlinks
Visitors = internet user/visitor
Google = google search engine(chrome)

The point of this story is that you need credible backlinks from other websites on the internet.
And when visitor comes to your website it ahould stay there because you are satisfying its interest. And if the visitor comes back again it will mean even hihger signal for a google.

If the website that is long time on the internet that means it is credible it will means strong signal for google to present you to visitors that are looking for wood.

//‐------------------------------------
Second part.....

Imagine 1.st house goes out of working. Stops selling bread... for some reason...

Google stops recommending that house to visitors because people do not get inside. And people cannot enter over the label(backlink) from other housea. They are not satisfied because they cannot find what they are looking for.
And that is normal because the house does not replenish the storage and cannot sell it to visitors because it is closed.
Google also cannot access that house because it is closed and stops sending people there.

So the house stops receving visits because it is out of business.

In time someone decides to open that house again. With same bread as before.
And so the new store refreshes the storage, starts promoting to the visitors and spread the word to other houses.

So, google comes eventualy to new house sees the storage is full, the house is refreshing and he starts to send visitors there.
This process increases much faster than im case of the sixts house because the google has old labels from the houses.
And if google sees that new visitors comes in the house and stay long enough, and the visitors comes back it means this house works great. And eventualy the house starts to see high growth.

In this story:
Old house, number 1, is old domain that was working ok. Google has seen that domain credible in the past so he started to send viaitors to that house again after the house has refreshed with new storage and it has open the doors for the visitors.

I hope this analogy has explained why new domain takes more time than old domain to get rank faster and to get visitors faster.

If the domain was ok before it will return back to the old number of visits again and it will rank faster than new domain for the topic bread.

Second case....
1.st House opens with new resource and that is iron.
In the past the 1.st house was selling bread and now is selling iron.
The lables from other houses is with label bread.so we have a case when new house opens but with different product.
All the labels from other houses have less meaning and they are pointing visitors yo the 1.st house with incorrect information.
And google starts to see the same scenario.

But in time the 1.st house tells other houses that new product is iron and they shouldnchange the label from bread to iron.
That change google sees in time and starts to send visitors to that house with intention to buy iron.

Conclusion....
The old domain that starts to sell something different that it was selling before it will rank at start with incorrect information from other houses. But google will quickly see that the house is selling iron as it sees the peoducts inside and eventualy iber labels from other houses.
The labels from other houses even saying bread will pass credibility to google even the house sells iron.

The main point is that new domain will
- have hard time to get ranked than old domain that starts to sell same product as before or
- will hard time to get ranked than old domain selling new product that is not related to the old one.

Yes, they can potentially offer advantages in terms of SEO, but they do not guarantee faster rankings.
You can buy the from Godaddy, Flippa.
