DMCA = site disappear from search engine

hello, recently i got lik 5 DMCA complains about my site via Search console. After couple of days i’ve noticed that the links which got DMCA has disappeared from search results in google. I was ranking so high though.

What can i do? Couple of my pictures got DMCA complain and these pictures were on my homepage aswell (as a post thumbnail). Now my homepage and couple of others links are removed from search results.

Remove them then response to them DMCA request. why did you think you could get away with copyright theft?

i can't remove my homepage. I've already removed all images & pages (except homepage) which were hit by DMCA.

Yup, can take time though.

google has a responsibility to remove any content off it's website if you are breaking copyright law.

basically, i've had lots of pictures on my site of Famous people, similar to The Fappening but way smaller website. Their "personal agents" has hit me with DMCA...

Some of them are actually really cool etc.. i have DMCA page on my site and if they want to get their content removed, they should just email me, and i will remove it within couple of hours.

It's not worth the time and effort to file a counter-notice. As for the affected URLs simply create new ones move the content over there (except those pictures) and move on. Just don't redirect the old URLs to the new ones. Better is to remove them from your website. As for the home page, there is nothing you can do but you can still rank inner pages. You'll probably rank them faster then you'll get a reply to your counter-notice.

A few years ago I dealt with the same issue for one stupid picture, it turned out to my advantage before DMCA I was ranking like 11-12. Now I rank 5-6 :-) I did file a counter-notice but never got a reply. Learnt my lesson :-)
 
I forgot one thing when you file a counter-notice you have to give a lot of personal details, not sure if this is something you want to do it.

yup. i didn’t submit a counter notice. i’ll probably make a new website and different domain.
 
I had the same thing and I removed the pics, then submitted a request in GWT but got an automated response "fck off" basically, so I created a new site without those pics.

So true, the way the DMCA system is set up pretty much sucks, it heavily favors the person filing DMCA and the receiving end can't do much unless they hire a lawyer. Otherwise, the counter-notice gets ignored. Even if one made a stupid mistake, removed the be it content or pic(s) in question they have no chances to defend themselves or make things right. I understand that it is needed to protect the rights holders, it's just the way it operates is not right.

A friend of mine used some icons from a PDF that wasn't copyrighted, not in the PDF or the metadata and got served a DMCA to hosting company, when he told them that the PDF didn't have any copyright marks, he was basically told 'see you court'. The company that filed the DMCA knew that he didn't have the financial resources to take them to court and forced him to remove the icons in question. I won't even go into fake DMCA notices, but there you have it, be careful even if something appears to be free, you'll never know what kind of nutcase might be on the other end :-)
 
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do... DMCA is a fucking mess
The only thing you can do is learn from your own mistakes and move on

but traffic will have to be from socail or other .

can only do it legit if you get pic permisson .

That's exactly what's wrong with the system, even if someone had made an honest mistake (I'm not talking about OP, as I don't know the detail, just in general) they have ZERO chances to defend themselves or make things right. Even if the stupid people (sending DMCA) screw up big time by not putting a copyright signature on be it text, pdf or what not. The system is so rigid and in favor of people sending DMCA that the receiving end is totally ignored (well.. screw up big time), all across the board, even if it's fake. It's like first come, first served, and if you're on the receiving end, they basically tell you, screw you, you have absolutely no rights to make things right. Amazing isn't it ...how about that for justice...NOT
 
if they are still indexed you can redirect them to new pages and make google crawl the redirect so you dont lose everything out of ranking

If a DMCA was served against any of his URLs, sooner or later those URLs will be deindexed. It's just a matter of time, and redirecting them to a new URL will do him no good. Basically, those URLs affected by DMCA are useless including the backlinks they might have.
