DMCA Ignoring Registrar

Does having random, non mainstream affect the ability to rank on Google? Because the general search I would do for torrent kickass never came in serp. I guess to succeed, you need a brand name

Some registrars can register domains on themselves and .by and .md does not maintain a who.is database, and if they do it is very minimal

But these domains don't rank well on the SERPS

Someone in the thread said awhile back that Kickass switched to a .so. Correct me if I am wrong, but that was just a spare TLD and they lost it a few weeks ago, reverting to .to. It seems like the only 100% safe one right now is .to, because I mean if they can't even take down the second most popular (and arguably the best) public tracker for pirating then porn sites will be fine.
