For cold outreach? People who DM you first? People who follow you? It's more complicated than a static number. I have clients who send over 1000 DMs a day, because their account receives that.

That's probably the best answer to your question. It all depends on what's in the message (i.e. just text, link, mention) and whether you have an on going conversation with the person already. A lot of different variables.

Best to just take a few sample accounts and do a bit of testing to see what limits are in place for what you're putting out, as there is no set limit.
 
if you get dm there no limit .

if you dm there a limit , 40 to 50 for safty daily spread over 12 hours

Message contains the same link?

I've been sending approximately 120 DMs to new followers on a daily basis and 60-80 follow-up messages, but these are people who followed me first and on a very solid, natural account with over 50k natural followers. The DMs are all the same contain a white hat link.
