Diversity Links to http and PBN to https

I built some diversity links to my website http url a few weeks ago but have now switched to https and want to start building PBN links. Should i link the PBN links to the http or the new https?? Reason being, diversity links to http and PBN to https might look unnatural?

Why would it be unnatural tho? If you acquired backlinks in the http stage, the links would show http. If you acquired the links in the https stage, they would also be using https. I really don't think it matters either way as long as everything redirects properly.

If you're still worried about it, you can mix the PBN links using both variations. I wouldn't worry about it.
 
Migrate http to https and Build new links with https... Search engine Google give more preference to the https
 
My opinion is, If they both show up in WMT then you are good.

Ive recently converted a few sites to HTTPs so my sample size is only three sites for this situation recently. Switched to https on domains that lost PBN links from expired networks and I wanted to bump back up.

One page I pointed about 7 exact match pbn links and 15 partial / long tail anchored parasite / web 2.0 mini sites to the primary earning page.

Main keyword went from about 100 to 3 in about three weeks.

If google didnt count my old links this site would have tanked.

I am building new diversity links (to justify further PBN links) but I dont see the need too for this example.

I also did this with a 'white hat' site a year ago. Main keyword (most profitable) stayed on page two. Built exact and partial match guest posts to the main term and moved up. Remained on page one til today.

I say its fine. But I dont have the testing on this situation to say it will 100% work.
 
Just point all links to https version from now on as you made the switch, it won't look unnatural. Also, you can still build some links to http version as well ☺ but thats not necessary imo.

Im thinking only the first reply understands my question! Its a diversity issue/question.

I have already built social, press release, some PBN, web 2.0 and profile links etc to http version of the url, then now migrated to https (301 the http to https) and want to build additional pbn links only. I am asking if it looks natural if most of diversity is to old http and new https has only PBN links, or should i just continue linking to the old http (to maintain the diversity) which is already 301ed to the https.....
 
I am saying (in a round about way) that the PBN links to https and being aggressive with anchors once switching to https will be fine.

Lol, just consider this, how a person naturally do when mentioning your website in their article, they simply copy your website url from browser address bar (90% possible chance) so just do that way. Thats what i'm saying ☺

If you're concerned that Google might notice the difference, just alternate between the two.

I don't think Google counts links to https/http as a footprint in itself, since the standard practice is to link to the current URL at the time the link is placed, but you certainly won't have a penalty if you alternate between the two.

You also dont get what i am asking. Alternate between the two does not answer the question.

Again! I have already built diversity types links to http only, now building pbn to https, so http has diversity links only and https has PBN links only. That is the potential issue, which is....certain link type to one version and other link type to other version. Adding PBN to both means i still only have PBN to https...which is the question and issue in the first place!! Dont understand how so many find this difficult question to comprehend!!

It's difficult to comprehend because you're being deliberately vague, and those answering are just trying to fill in the gaps.

I'm assuming you're talking about a footprint visible to Google, yet answers that address that question are declared to be wrong.

Please, spell it out for the rest of us. Start your question over again, explain every step clearly, and try to point out where you think the issue is going to arise. Don't leave it up to the reader to read your mind and understand your intent.

1) Build website http://website.com
2) Add Post http://website.com/url-to-rank
3) Build links: Press release, web 2.0, profile links, social links to http://website.com/url-to-rank
4) After few weeks switch website to http(s), so now it is https://website.com
5) Post is now https://website.com/url-to-rank
6) 301 redirect whole website to new http(s), so http://website.com/url-to-rank is now https://website.com/url-to-rank
7) Add PBN links to https://website.com/url-to-rank
8) Now http://website.com/url-to-rank has Press release, web 2.0, profile links, social links AND https://website.com/url-to-rank has PBN only

The question was, does this create a footprint to Google where 'http' has diverse links but 'http(s)' has only PBN. But i give up now and stick to the one or two who answered above.

In general, no, https links are not considered a footprint.

If you want to completely eliminate even the risk of a footprint, build a few new diversity links pointing to https, and build a few PBNs pointing to HTTP. This would be overkill in my opinion, but it certainly won't hurt.
 
Google already clarified that migrating to https using 301 will pass whole the page rank of http to https in 2016(can't remember exact year and month) itself. So, it means all the http versions backlinks are now considered to be backlinks of https versions. Imo, no need to worry about this issue and just point pbn to https version of your site.
 
Build new links to the new active version.

Redirect everything properly via htaccess and you won't lose any juice.
