As described in the title disqus comments are helpful for ranking or seo propose?

Comments in general can be beneficial for ranking secondary/long tails. Also helps boost engagement/on page time if the comments are controversial :p

It's good as longer as you use threads related to your website niche.
 
Good, participate in the discussions, reply them when get new reply; follow users there interact with them.

I used disqus as a marketing tool on some pouplar websites

I would comment on all the posts daily, with my username/id as my website

It gained me a lot of support from that community
 
Comments are part of the page content. It's a great way to widen your content and increase user engagement. Just make sure you work with the comment section on your site and set all links to nofollow.
 
Comments are very important. I have got post on my pbn about yoga course and I have added a few comments with city names and its currently on TOP8 yoga + city
 
All links on Disqus are no-follow, but they do get indexed rarely. However, they are more effective for traffic than SEO.
