yes, for sure it is useful if you build yourself a nice list of high pr do follow blogs to spam your comments on

It won't hurt, but it won't work as good as other ways of backlinking. Do your research and you'll find and effective way of ranking videos, I'm not going to just spoon feed it though. Basically, nothing can hurt a youtube video, it either will have no effect, or it will help, so just experiment.
