Hey, I'm kinda new'ish to BHW, but not BH. I've noticed some weird ass trends lately and wondering if I'm just paying more attention to these, or if they've come in waves. So all you old fogies, I'm looking for your comment.

So lately I've noticed the expired domain boom and it's escalated since I posted this thread; it could also be the circles I'm right now and I'm exposed to it more.

I've seen people say "DA and PA is the metric to look for" to "PR is the metric to look for" and then back to Moz Metrics. Right now people are hell bent on Trust Flow. What is next? URL Rank by Ahrefs?

I've also noticed a big trend right now in trying to manipulate CTR in Google. I'm sure this has come and gone many times, and I remember seeing lots of WF sales threads a few years back about this with promises to improve CTR and boost ranking. Pretty sure none of them worked.

Another trend I'm seeing right now, especially with the BH.C "Charlie Fan Boys" is trying to spam the shit out of Youtube Videos. Another guy made this video saying that throwing SAPE links to citations and parasites is the bomb and will make you a squillion dollars.

As you said, every mom and pop jumped onto this PBN bandwagon and started selling Expired Domains or a service where they say they'll build you a private blog networks. You can even see a few newbies with Donor status with their nickname in the name of their PBN website/service. In hindsight, not many of these guys have a basic clue about what Google wants but rather reflect upon what they heard/read on BHW and start a service without doing any experiments. So at the end of the day, as like any other link building service, the peoples who buy this stuffs are always the one who got burned. It's almost 2015 and the PBN fever is still waving around every BH community not just in BHW. Shall I say Xrumer is still working for me on churn'n'burn sites that have duplicate content?

I see where you're coming from with the Ahrefs rank. I agree they've the biggest crawler out there but their ranking score is just a marketing gimmick and kind of a ego thing. They put it there just because their competitors have a similar scoring system and I wouldn't even call it as a metric because it can be flawed much easily than the Moz's page authority.

I'm also noticing a lot of know-it-all noobs who simply comes and comments whatever they think about the topic without any solid proof to back up their statements.

What I'm missing lately is the experiments and case studies and comments about CEOSam.
