Hey, I'm about to buy a premium domain (parked at the moment) in the gambling niche ($3k). It has some history and backlinks built during the years (19k Backlinks total and 2.59k RD).

70% of them are blogspot type of links with no value. Some of them are indexed, others are not and I'm thinking of disavowing all of the blogspot links or at least the indexed ones. They are spammy and not relevant, so this should be a no-brainer.

My question is regarding the other links with low DR (0-10 let's say). For the sake of a more balanced link profile should I leave some low DR (but relevant) links? Is there any danger if I leave only quality links (50+ DR) that Google will consider the link profile non-organic and make it harder to rank when start working on the domain.

I know DR is not the only factor to measure link quality, but in this case, all 0-1 DR links don't seem to be useful, bringing any traffic etc.

I'm in the SEO for quite some time but have never dealt with buying domains, so not 100% sure how to deal with this.

The idea is for our website to remain in a similar niche (providing slot & casino games) and in the past, it was a portal with gaming resources.

Forget about low-quality domains linking. Just disavow those with highly spammy anchors that could see to be dangerous like viagra anchors and all that in case there are (you can see the anchor profile in ahrefs).
Even though, I would leave it untouched. Unless you go into Google Search Console and see clear warnings I don't think they will affect your site.

Thanks for your recommendation. So, you don't see any merit in disavowing all low-quality domains unless there are some dangerous anchors. From what I've seen so far there are no viagra type of anchors. Mainly brand name, and casino/ gambling ones, so it seems legit.

I won't ever buy a domain with such profile

But there are also live and relevant links from Wikipedia on the other hand... and we need a domain in this niche with relevant history, so not to start from the ground up....
