I haven't faced any penalties or manual action but I have a couple site-wide links (I believe from PBNs) that I'd like to have ignored. I've had a lot of the links from those few domains removed already but Google hasn't crawled the sites in weeks/months so it hasn't caught up to it yet. I wanted to know, has anybody ever used the disavow tool outside of having a penalty? How long should I wait before expecting these links to vanish?

Before disavowing, you should contact the owner of the blog network sites and ask him to remove your links. It works out better for everyone.

the blog network is deindexed, but I have about 200-500 links on there according to Google/GWT...

I've gotten a lot of them removed but Google isn't crawling them ... and when it does it isn't going nearly deep enough into the sites to see all the links that I've had deleted.

Get all the shitty links removed and get quality links from authority sites. Wait for some time or use indexers to index the new quality links to google.

First of all load all the links in scrapebox and check if they are alive at all.

Then get to work and remove the ones you don't like. Anything else is a waste of time.

I believe disavowing links when you don't have a manual action message in your GWT is a waste of time. In fact, the whole disavow thing is a waste of time.
