Have anyone used it before ?

I just disavowed over 1k links to my money site.

Matt says that it'll have results after several weeks, does it really take so long ?

Is there any difference between destroying the whole backlink page and disavowing that link for the site ?

yes, for sure it will take some time to see results..
 
I tried it, it had some effect, but between submitting re-consideration requests and using the disavow tool and manually removing links, it's taken a good 3-4 months to see any improvement.

That's my experience.
 
It would take a good few months at least.

I used disavow tools and it was painful.
I thought i could use it on all of my websites. In fact, if you have less than 100 spam links to your website it is not worth it.
In my case, i added a disavow tool link for each of my website. At some point google has reset all my webmaster tools inbound links for each of my websites. It means one day, i went to my webmaster tools account and i have witnessed all inbound links were gone. It was like starting from zero and recrawling. I experienced a 40% drop in traffic. So read the warning message before submitting disavow tools file, it says it all.
 
Im not using this tool for 2 reasons. 1st, identifying diseased link is time consuming and 2nd, disavowing links may have no impact on your sites performance.
 
It would take at least 6 weeks in my experience to see any effect. Yes there's different between destroying the link...and disavowing it....

May be destroying it a tougher ask..as compared to disavowing. In disavowing , you are telling google not to value the link...let it be there but not to value it in terms of positive or negative
 
If you just submit a disavow list you are wasting your time.

You need to try and remove the links first, then submit your disavow list and then you need to file a reconsideration request.

Frankly just use a service that does this for you if the website is worth anything, otherwise move on and start over.
 
Also remember that when you disavow a link, you are telling Google you think it is a low quality backlink.

Google very likely uses disavow data to decide what links are low quality and what aren't.

There are a couple lessons to learn from this. The first one is, if you disavow a site, you should never be getting a link from it ever again. The second one is, if you are ordering an SEO packages where you get a link report, consider that there are likely many other people also ordering an SEO package, and it is very likely one of them will eventually disavow those links.

Just another reason why it's better to do your own SEO instead of doing what everyone else is doing.
