Disappearing emails whose scamming who?

I was sent an email from a company called Stella & Dot thanking me for subscribing and asking me to like them on facebook.
next i get an email thanking me for my order
next is the confirmation of order and payment.

I complain as i didnt join and i didnt place an order.
They respond and ask me what emails i am complaining about.

I discover the order emails have disappeared from my email - not in trash, bin inbox sent, nothing!
What happened to these emails, where did they go. Why dont they show?

What email account do you use? Web-based like hotmail or gmail? They may have your password.

even if its gmail where are the emails surely they would still be in the trash/bin

Did you check the spam box ? Same thing happened to a few of my e-mails but it turned out that they got shifted to the spam box randomly.

If you delete an email it goes to the trash, but if you go into the trash and delete an email that is in there then it is deleted permanently. It's possible someone hacked your email and is using it to order stuff and then erase their tracks by permanently erasing the emails. At the bottom of Gmail there is a button that let's you see recent IPs that logged into your account, so if I were you I'd check those IPs and see if there are any you don't recognize.

They have your login id and password.

Thanks for that useful post. Turns out some arsehole with an iphone had been helping himself to my account and details to get himself a fake id and was busy scamming.

Makes me so mad!:mad2:
