Disable DM requests

Hi to all,
I’m trying to grow IG account using one method I learned here. I am pretty noob about IG, so I have couple of questions.

I made my profile private but I am still getting dm requests (i also disabled in privacy-messages settings but still getting requests)?
And another question, if I have a dm requests, and after some time I rename my account (sell it to someone or something like that) does the DM requests stay visible to that person who sent it or ?

Placing an account on private does not disable you from receiving message requests.

But how can I disable receiving messages?

strange, i dont get any spam. maybe im just lucky

maybe this can help you, go to inbox or messages wherever you call it, if you have a pending request it will show like "Requests (3)" as an example will be in blue letters, click on it, then search for an option that says "Decide who can message you" it will be in blue letters and there you click in the options and select "Don't receive requests" I did this from my cellphone, don't know if is going to be different from the website, the menu is called "Message Controls"
