I think this is a great thread. Why would it be good? OP is helping people, enough said. This thread is nice especially for SEO newbs like me and im sure other newbies agree with me as well...

Ok guys as we are all sharing top tips here is mine.

I have found that writing a letter to google telling them my site is now live and asking them to let the relevent people know has an astounding effect!

I find this very interesting (and quite impressive).

I haven't spent any time checking out the metrics on "casino games" keyword, but I'm guessing it isn't an easy word to rank for.

There are literally thousands of threads in BHW about how to make backlinks. Backlink, backlink, backlink. Thousands and thousands of them.

But, this example shows that thousands aren't needed.

Is the OP saying that lots of internal links with your keyword is SO VALUABLE that you can get to #1 without thousands of backlinks?

Putting the word "Number 1 ranking" automatically lets Google know you are the number 1 ranking website and they put you there

He appears to be implying that an internal backlink to the root domain, is more powerful than an external link.
I have seen massive sites that were ranking for their keywords due to thousands of internal pages all pointing to the root domain..so there appears to be some merit in this..some.. ;)

I have one of my clients site with only 53 links of which mostly i did manually rank 2nd for 90500 exact matches according to the new adw0rds tool and when you search there are 4.840.000 results . So it must be something important.

So... where do you put "Number 1 ranking", as a sub-title, in the footer, hidden in a sidebar...

1. Run a $100 Adwords test campaign after your initial keyword research, helping you do the best themed/relevant keywords on-site optimisation.

2. Ensure there is a well written, non-duplicated attractive Title / Description tags on every page.

3. Verify that almost every single piece of relevant content on your site is somehow static to the page it was written for and is not a text image (double check that with a text browser).

4. Revise the On-page content to be sure there is a minimum presence of your themed keywords on every page. Don't try to go overboard, just think as if you'd be the user.

5. Double check your code to make sure you've got your content titles and subtitles under H1 / H2 tags.

6. Verify that the any navigational element are text links and are not "click here" or "more info" type of links.

7. Make sure contextual links are widely spread and commonly used all across the website content to emphasize key pages.

8. If you plan on trading links, make sure there is small directory with themed categories, or at least get a "links/resources" page.

9. Verify that your robots.txt file exists and that you added the folders you want to prevent access from.

10. Be sure there is a sitemap.xml at the root of your site.

11. Make sure there is a breadcrumb to help the cross-linking of your site.

12. Verify that the static sitemap is easily reachable by your visitors.

13. Ensure that your 404 page contains links to your main categories and maybe a search box.

14. Check that important images are labeled properly with the alt tag (this should be automated somehow).

15. Make sure you installed generic analytics to ensure any kind of tracking (Google Analytics, Indextools).

16. Make sure that conversion/defined action tracking analytics are installed (Heatmap tracking, conversion trackers from PPC platforms, Indextools action trackers, etc).

17. Register / validate your site through Google Webmaster central to be able to analyze incoming links and validate a few things (like your robots.txt file).

18. Do a quick IP location test to make sure you're hosted near your main market.

19. Unless otherwise advised, get your company's signature at the bottom of the pages you create for clients, using one of your best keyword as anchor text. This is vital. You shouldn't be worried about promoting your services, especially if your clients are highly satisfied with your work!

20. Use all SEOmoz tools (I'm a bit biased here): Page Strength and Keyword Difficulty to measure the efforts required to achieve high SERPs (by comparing your actual site with the top competitors website), and the Crawl test to ensure your website will get properly indexed.

21. Get your website xhtml/w3c validated to cover the major issues you might not have thought of

And a few extras, if you're running a blog platform

22. Ping the major content aggregators (Google Blog Search, My Yahoo, Wikio, etc.)

23. Include links to major social platforms (digg, del.icio.us, blogmarks, technorati tags, etc.)

24. Use Feedburner to get stats and a universal RSS feed

This is absolutely not true.

Tip #3

To be able to rank better for many countries where people search for the term in another language that their local Search engine results show.
You just have to relocate you destination "market" every now and then. Ie. every 1 month or so. This you do on webmaster tools . I did this not on purpose with one of my sites, because at the time I was not sure on which market would bring me more conversions so I started changing. After a while I realized that further than ranking 1st page in every country, and this I'm not sure about looks like G got a little bit lost even though the site was new and had 35 k links (good reason to sandbox a 2 month old site).

 
aldragon .. i have a feeling the post from the executive vip scared you. c'mon ... 2 days for writing this tips ? :) and no mamber here wrote about this stuff ? .. c'mon .. all this makes me think the pyronaut post made the difference between making a list of members and publishing your so called dirty little secrets from this thread.
 
The reason this works, is because inSite links also work as "backlinks", although they are weaker than external backlinks.
So the same principles apply for your internal linking structure.
Most importantly, rembember to use "nofollow" in some of your internal links, to optimize your internal link structure so that the PR of your pages flow mostly to the pages you want to rank.

Didn't even notice the post you mention, in fact just read it.
Unluckily I have been way more busy than I thought And i'm currently trying to make an order to be able to publish the final stuff without writing a long boring thing.
Scared? sure I'm shaking.
Getting Banned? after a little more than 3 months being a member I don't think so.
About trying to make a list or else, all I have as an Itrader is as a buyer. I don't sell here and don't have any plans on doing it. For emails, I have many good providers like some Members here and don't need lists.

All the people that get suspicious about a thread like this is just because they have in their minds: envy,and most of all they are trying to sell their stuff without any success. Are you one of them?
 
I am a beginner.. and i think its very usefull... BTW that .org site really sucks... I dont know how it came first in top keyword like that..
