Directory submissions questions

Do free links really take 2-3 months? And would a directory accept a site with hacks for games? If a directory took 2-3 months to approve a link I find it really bad way to use for backlinks but I have read some guides that encourage using them.

Yes they take that long and in most cases you will be rejected, I have manually submitted by website to around 60 directories and only got accepted to 15 I think. This was 6 months ago and the website I have is high pagerank with high quality content. If you want to be sure you will get accepted fast you will need to pay for it but my suggestion is to dont waste money on them. Better pay someone forguest posting instead of directory submission.
