Directory spy?

Is there any software or way to spy on the competition and see their entire directory structure string and folders behind the home page?

I saw on BHW sometimes other members posting Dir strings of websites to get the free stuff.

How is this done and is there any software where you can view this online. I do not want to download the entire website to view offline.

Just be able to view the Directory structure online.

Please let me know if this is possible.
