hey guys i would really love some help on this analytics problem im facing.

my bounce rates are amazing throughout my entire site however i have recently started to get a huge amount of direct traffic for some reason.

this direct traffic is almost 100% bounce rate.

what is this?
how can i check it?
what can i do to stop it?

thanks guys

This is where server-side logs are still useful. Client side javascript doesn't solve all problems.... If you have the server logs, you can check referrers, IP's and patterns to try and diagnose where this traffic is from.

do you mean loging into cpannel in awstats?

i looked in analytics and it says that they are all unique users.

Some times I got Many Traffic, I was Surprised after that I realized they are Crawler BOT Visit. You may Got this type of Crawl Traffic.

how would i confirm this?
how would i prevent this?

im getting 200ish per day when my website is getting about 100-150 genuine unique people per day.

There is no way to prevent this, maybe I dont know it. Web Crawler will Crawl, If you Build any link.

they are bots (may be used by search engines), there is no way to prevent this.
Stay calm, Just grab a glass of beer and focus on content of your site.

its quite frustrating when if completely throws of the analytic readings.
i know bounce rate is a large factor in google rankings these days. will this affect it?

The combination of unusual direct traffic and the bounce rate is most likely because of ghost spam. Lately, GA has been hit with fake direct visits along with the common referral spam, probably as a distraction. Here is an article describing this issue and the solution to stop it

Hope it helps.

Yup, there are services out there that deliver totally irrelevant traffic. and that is why you have 100% bounce on it.
Some people use these services in order to build up traffic stats in order to sell their domain at flippa etc
