I set up a fancy little envelope for my local website design company and want to send it out to business in the area, but now that I think about it, is it ok to just get the owners name off of manta or the website and then just mail it out to the restaurant/florist/autorepair/etc. address? What I am wondering is a)can restaurants and such type of places even receive mail? and b) if so how likely is it to get to the man in charge?

I assume this is the way mailing is done only b/c I cant think of any other way it could be done unless im missing something simple

I think you would be best served knowing that the owner is there. Get creative with this. There are tons of ways to just find out if the owner is there. Telemarketing tactics, walk in tactics. Just go to the store and ask to speak with the owner. If you encounter a good gate keeper, make something up, just be creative. You want to be sure that the message gets to the big boss or else you are just wasting money. Most restaraunts are not going to be frequented by the owner. Find the owner, find out where he gets his business mail sent to and then send it there.

Yea thats exactly what I was wondering, whats the best way of getting that?
My idea was to call up a business and wonder if you could get the owners address to send him a thank you card but if he/she finds out, your already sending a bad impression.
