Direct Join affiliate links & cookies..?

I've been experimenting with my affiliate links and just realized that when the direct join link url isn't given as a linkcode, the system doesn't record the unique ip address. I run a tube site and once a potential customer goes to the affiliate link tour page the juices may fizzle a bit and the potential impulse buyer is lost.
To make a long story short...is there any way make sure the system records the unique ip addresses of those arriving at the direct join page.
