Digital Nomads, I need some suggestions or advice

Hi guys,

Straight to the point, I actually would like the idea of being a digital nomad (work anywhere) and what i can come up with is selling digital products or affiliates online (The work hard for some time and let it run by it's own business model) but i'm not sure what to focus on.

- Firstly i'd need a product. And for that I need to find out what sells

- In order to find out what sells / niche down, I need a little bit of knowledge on SEO / Affiliate / digital marketing (I am thinking of taking a Udemy course on this, any recommendations?)

- I'm working under the Tech industry (if it helps)

- I'm wondering for the ones who actually manage to live off having an online business, did you have to go through the process of learning literally everything from Product research to SEO to building websites on your own? I'm not sure if i am focusing on too much things at once.

Don’t try to learn everything at once. Pick one area, focus on it, and get some results first. Testing > endless courses.

I'm not looking for fast progress, but out of curiosity how long did it take you before you see results / decided you can live on with it?

By the way, what is CPA?

I was making $2k+ per month after a couple of months of work and then scaled it up a lot. Call per action. There are many networks like cpagrip.com.

Oh I like that you’re not looking for any fast get rich approach because selling digital products isn’t actually as easy as many portray it to be.

Especially on TikTok... where people just show their income all over the place but in reality it’s often just to push their course more

I’m not saying it doesn’t work but it’s def not easy... at least not for everyone : )
 
The best way is to search on Google the best digital product in demand. Get the 3 best digital products in demand and work with them.
Shopify is a good idea too but the you have to spend a little if you don't know how to set things up.

Because i know it doesn't exist.. Unless it's a gamble or if you already have connections / something established beforehand. I actually ran a Print of Demand store, 3 months of work had some income before it got taken down for whatever reasons. Now i'm starting back from 0 just looking at other sectors of digital products

Yeah i was actually looking at Shopify but i'll plan along the way.
 
I do travel and lot, but I come back home to relax for a while before taking off again. So I don't see myself as a perpetual nomad or a digital nomad (hate this term btw)
My advice : First, build an income. At least $2000 a month i.e if you want to nomad in cheaper countries in SEA and Asia in general or some south American and latin American countries. I've seen a lot of brokies in Chiang Mai and Bali who were barely getting by, renting cheap places, eating only once a day and some of them were surviving on hand outs from parents.
Second : Try taking small trips and working on the go to see if you can manage this lifestyle. Some people do long term bookings only to realize a couple of months in that this is not for them.

This is by far the best advice anyone has given on this thread so far.
That amount will be more than enough for Chiang Mai and other places in Thailand - and just about anywhere in SEA to be truthful - yes I do know, as that is where I am.
As stated by @limitless, you aren't really a Nomad, rather a static.
Just need a place to get your head down, focus on income, learn and grow with like minded people around which is a good place to be.
Work on the x2 factor.
Once you stabalise on 2k, work on x2 of that
Then....

THINK:
Services for local business owners in your own country who you may know.
Look it up - GBP, CPA for lead generation get them customers.
Look for business owners with money - they will gladly pay you if you do a good job.(Made mistake of targetting business owners who were going under so could not pay me - DUH!)
Don't worry about what you do to start, you can change later what you do, now you need income.

Have you ever tried to do this or just planned it without experience? It looks interesting but it's not for everyone, You will have more expenses, won't know anyone once you're in new city, culture is very different in new countries so maybe try it out a bit and see if this lifestyle is for you.
 
Don’t stress about mastering every skill, I learned half as I went and the other half from seeing what worked in real campaigns

Actually, my term of digital nomad means having the flexibility to work anywhere. While i agree there are some perks like travelling to cheaper countries and settling down etc. I already have a house with mortage around here so not feasible. Unless i can rent it out and then work online while sitting at cheaper countries.

Yeah.. the things i want to do all looks so saturated.. im having trouble figuring out how i'd want to stand out amongst them.

I had a print on demand store before, was earning some income (not that much) but shop was taken down. Now i have to start back from 0 and it's hard work all over again. I actually want to be able to work anywhere and just maintain it while working on something else

I’ve been traveling as a digital nomad for a while. My advice: make sure you have a steady remote income first, pick places with good internet, and don’t forget to have travel insurance. Coworking spaces really help you stay productive.

You're thinking in the right direction. Yes, most successful digital nomads had to learn many skills at first - product research, SEO, websites, and marketing. But you don’t need to master everything at once. Start small: choose one model (like digital products), learn just enough SEO and marketing to get going, and scale from there. A good Udemy course to begin with is “The Complete Digital Marketing Guide – 24 Courses in 1” by Robin & Jesper. It's well-structured for beginners.
