Difficulty of creating a website similar to this?

Hey guys,

Have been developing websites using Wordpress & Elementor for about 6+ years and am curious about how someone would go about creating a website similar to FontJoy: https://fontjoy.com/

I have an idea for internal use that would be using images instead of fonts, and I don't think this would be a project for Wordpress. There is a Github source on the site but that's not too useful for me as my coding knowledge is amateur.

Any ideas or comment on how complex a site like this would be to build, essentially rather than fonts it would be images and operating in a similar way to FontJoy.

I should add that I don't care about the formulas behind the scenes in terms of pairing, more just shuffling the images, and maybe adding categories to them help with sorting.
