Difficult to outrank Wikipedia page???

I'm above Wiki pages for just about everything I want - and I'm no guru.

Just keep link building, not just spammy shit, but some quality links

If you don't want to use backlinks try to find a script that can be ran which will create mass users on random forums on your site and will spam the shit out those random forums with your product and niche. Lol. Otherwise use backlinks.... My backlink software is a one-way back linker..... But it's not up yet... Want me to tell you when it's up? :o

Is there any difference in ranking out a specific kind of site?

So if you want to outrank a high PR authority site like wikipedia do you do anything else like if you want to outrank a Blackhat SEO site with massive linkspam?

Hunt around in the services area for sellers of such services....

i was able to outrank Wikipedia by having 50,000 mostly no-follow blog comments against the 500 backlinks of Wikipedia.
 
One thing thou, try check out how many hits you actually get.

I have a site thats Nr 3 aswell behind a wiki page, and a youtube video. I tried beating it for sometime until i checked out how many hits i actually got. And according to my tools Nr 1 should get 1250 ish hits a day (~42%), But my website as Nr3 actually gets 37%, So aslong as people aint interested in wiki or the youtube movie i think your fine.

when i search for something i know cant be found in a wiki site or youtube movie, i just hop past, and attack the lower ones :)
 
I have never really had any problems out-ranking a wikipedia page. Its really just another site just keep on doing what you did to get just below that wikipedia page and soon you will be above it.
 
Write an extremely controversial page/post about this guy. Something like he killed, murdered, molested, hit and run, etc and get 30 accounts(use a service) to upvote it on digg/reddit/etc. Make sure the post is really fucked up and seo that page like a beast.

In addition make a video about what you just heard about the news(hire someone on fiverr) and have it like. yoursite.com/mcnasty-schnasty-death so when they google it it'll show up first or whatever you write in your page/post. You can also post it directly on your home page to get people to link directly to yoursite.com that way you can remove the post in the future. You should hopefully get enough backlinks to bring you above wiki for not very much work!

If you're lazy get someone to photoshop him doing something illegal and that'll work too, make sure to put it on your home page. Maybe block hotlinking with your .htaccess so they have to feature your entire site.
 
Can you give an example to what you mean by anchored contextual link will give more power.

It's not easy to outrank Wikipedia but it's still possible. You will have to edit that Wikipedia article. Replace the important keywords (the keyword you're trying to rank for) with synonyms or completely remove them. Remove all links from other Wikipedia articles that point to that page. If that doesn't do the job - build more backlinks to your site.
 
Onsite SEO -> Dynamic Content -> Bookmarking -> Article Marketing -> Offsite content creation

Drop few things between those steps, twist it a bit, and you are 1st in 2-3 weeks max :)
 
I'd buy some 20-30 editorial links before trying a 30k comment blast. Sometimes that's just what's missing to complete the nr.1 req.

Something that has worked for me in the past is to have a no follow link to the wiki page in question! Google likes a site to be a "good neighbour". Doesn't always work though.
