Difficult Of Getting On 1st Page Using Blackhat SEO

I'm looking to get on the first page of Google for a keyword that has:

Without Quotes - 34,600,000 Results
With Quotes - 742,000 Results

My domain has the keywords in it.

Does this seem doable?

Hmmm

if you know alot of SEO you can get there easily but if you are a noob in SEO I recommend you stick with less than 100k competitors with quotes

Btw, I forgot to mention that I am currently at the bottom of the 3rd page, when searching it without quotes.

With quotes, I am on the first page (7th position).

It depends on the strength of your competitors..if you got to the firstpage with quotes, I think that is a sign that not all your competitors are strong or are targetting your keywords, you can still work to build your backlinks and get more visitors, there's a thread that talks about the variables that google uses to rank a site...you should print it out and find in what area you are missing out.
Here's what I did to a site of mine that is currently PR7, first find all the backlinks that the top competitor is using, if possible, try to get the similar backlinks to your site that he got. Then, learn all the possible SEO strategy/technique and just go crazy building backlinks, getting traffic etc...Go absolutely crazy like there's no tomorrow!
That's my battle plan I did for the site that got PR7 with a keyword of 25k searches a month, and 3,000,000 competing pages. If I put quotes on the keyword, my site goes to number one, but of course that is worth nothing because nobody is searching with quotes.

Or just try to find an easier target...

Polymath, this is good and all, but is there a list of all the variables that G uses for ranking?
What type of variables do you know about that would be great to share?
