Here are many different ways of link building

1. High PR profile links
2. Social bookmarks
3. Web2.0
4. Link wheel
5. Link pyramid
6. Wiki links
7. Wikipedia links
8. Blogroll links
9. High PR blog posts
10. Article directory submission
11. Rss submission
12. Directory submission
13. Article submission to various blogs
14. High PR links
15. Youtube marketing
16. Blog comments

And still counting....

Which one of these is still effective for higher search engine rankings and you can share your experience with your results here

Thx

I have had good success with the combination of 1, 2, 12, 16. The others are useful too (might even be better than these) but in my SEO plan I take the most results by the techniques I've mentioned.

yea but how about profile links are they still effective as before ?

seo is overkill the way we do it, get links from established sites within your niche with PR2+ is enough if you can control yourself. Spamming will help you once your site established, please don't do any case study with massive scrapebox blasts..

EDIT : profile links/AA blasts/bookmarks should be used as spamming

won't help you in the long run if you're not yet established within your niche

EDIT2 : lots of myths about seo, test for yourself but most of what is talked about is irrelevant. Anchor text diversity has a very little impact compared to what it's advocated here. Same for backlink diversity. I cracked up very tuff niches with very basic linkbuilding.

You should put your effort in link velocity. Test only this factor.

I like and would prefer 3,4,5 much in all the tool of backlinking mentioned here.

They are effective but probably not as much as they were before. Results do vary from project to project though as you can't exactly tell which technique is bringing more fruit especially when you're focusing on multiple techniques at the same time.

How do you suggest to go about linkbuilding for a fresh site? And how to progress from there?

Article submission with unique content and high page rank article directories really help to increase the page rank, but trying the superlative function of article directory and link wheel will be more effective comparing to individual use of these techniques.

vBulletin profile posting, it does not notify users by email and can gain thousands of links from a single website which is good to prevent sandbox
