Make sure you are not logged into say a good account. This messes up your results as I have seen it before with my sites.

you might try clearing your cookies and also going here and seeing where it is overseas

I've noticed rank results and other on page elements change based on:
- location
- method acquired (manually, bot, script)
- ip address
- frequency checked
- ... etc.

Google and other engines use a large number of techniques to randomize data presented. I recently had a script coded to harvest index volume of keywords and Google, Yahoo, and Bing alter the number that I see when using my script and when I look at it in my regular browser.

... Google is especially efficient at detecting human vs. machine behavior. I've used a large number of techniques for various data mining purposes and sometimes have been captcha'd for just a few (approx. 3) bot automated searches before! ... They realize unnatural query volumes based on frequency and I assume historical data.

I used google.com/search?q=my keyword to see my website's result. I see my website on page #6. I live in Vietnam. My friend lives in USA searching the same as me and my website rank #2 on page #1.
I removed the effect of local google search so i think this is due to IP or cookie or cache.
Searching when logging in a google account may affect the results as well, i think.
