Anyone have any pros/cons?
Which one is easier to grow/promote/ect.
If online business is organized properly you can be anywhere and do it anytime
Just when you want
It depends on what your business is! You certainly won't get a scrapyard running online I personally don't see any difference regarding marketing when it comes to physical/internet companies! They both need a website and SEO don't they?
There is no easier between online n offline only pros n cons. Not all biz need online marketing. Research on the top 10 biz u going to establish and see how they doing to make it to that level.
the online bubble is long gone, both are equally hard to grow
For me most positive aspect of online biz is that of No Limits of Geographical reach
and allows one to contact your customer across the globe
Offline consumption > Online consumption
more money flowing offline than online right now
Yes offline is rocking now than online.
One similarity between building a website and building an offline businesses that a lot of marketers seem to forget:
Although the start-up capital required on average online is less, if you're going to be going after a big niche, you're going to need a big budget. I see so many newbies on here going after these huge niches like how to make money online or porn or travel etc, expecting to be able to rank with no capital. The more competitive the niche you're going after is, the more money you're gonna need to invest.
Both are actually equally hard to grow now, it takes a lot of courage to set up one offline.
It depends, because you could have a certain skill (such as a bespoke shoe maker, which is becoming rarer these days) that markets clients in his/her region without a lot of help from the internet. But for it to grow it would need to of course build a website to reach more clients.
Whereas an online business like a web design, or seo company could do everything online and be dependent on reaching clients from online. But if it would like to grow it would want to employ physical workers, maybe even rent an office.
From both these hypothetical scenarios, both online and offline would need to be intertwined to grow the business and the difficulty of growth depends on the niche.
It also depends on the persons approach to starting from offline or online as some people prefer to be more 'hands on' with their business instead of using the computer for everything.
physical business - pimp
online business - IMer
The best is to have both beause both can generate income but it is more difficult to keep it up and working not mentionig to set it up. Many businesses here in Europe for example have online and also offline market place where they sell and it is working very well that way. Focusing only on online selling or offline selling is not enough at the times we live in now.
