Similarity: both do not have clear projects, are not secure, do not bring innovations, both have the same birthplace.

Shitcoin: created to artificially generate profit, mainly for a small group that boosts shitcoin through influencers, tiktok, twitter, telegram, discord, etc. and makes a few thousand people lose money while they make a lot of money. This has no popular appeal, has a generic name, works by pump/dump and can break you at any time.

Examples: any generic garbage recently added on CMC/Coingecko

Memecoin: it has popular appeal, thousands (or millions) of holders, has its name mentioned in the mainstream media... your neighbor has seen this crypto meme on facebook and possibly Elon and other popstars are mentioning it.

Examples: DOGE and possibly SAFEMOON (+1M Holders), Shiba Inu

Diference: When something, no matter how useless it is (at first) becomes popular, appears in the mainstream media, and has millions of holders, it becomes useful and slowly begins to have real utility and be taken seriously.

For this reason, I do not believe that DOGE will one day go back to being worth $0.05 // $0.10 or something like that, the trend is to keep going up and being taken seriously by reputable companies and institutions.

Now the question remains whether #SHIB, #SAFEMOON and other shitcoins will also become memecoins.

What do you think about this?

The only thing stopping the mass adoption of both $SHIB and Safemoon is the difficulty in purchase.
Apps like Robinhood have opened $DOGE up to the masses in ways $SHIB and Safemoon have not experienced, yet..

I say 'yet' as they are both on the same trajectory as $DOGE:
- Started with a huge grassroots following/community
- People started actually making/taking profits from it
- More adoption on crypto exchanges
--------------------------
Only pieces missing are:
- Celebrity endorsement
- Greater ease of purchase

The idea of spending at most a few hundred and ending up with a few MILLION of something (even shit/meme coins) is very alluring.

the only difference, is the community supporting the token
