Difference Between Global & Local Searches?

What is the difference?

I have found a niche with 16,000 Global searches and 1,500 local searches .. if i get on google first page, will i get much traffic?

Local searches = searches from the last month, from the country you selected

Global searches = searches worldwide, the number is the monthly average from the last 12 months

It depends on where you are marketing. If you're in the US and your marketing to the US then local is all you need.

Most of the time top 3 only get the visitors. #1 will get 40%, #2 - 11% and the rest shared among others. But If the search has too many embedded results like products, videos or image that will also affect the CTR!

If you just want traffic and want to Monetize it with Adsense, then go for Global Monthly Search Count but if you going to monetize using CPA or selling Products targeting US or any other specific country, then go for Local Search Count.
