Difference between black hat SEO and white hat SEO?

can't be bothered reading the whole post but this is my definition

both BH and WH are wrong as far as the Big G is concerned, so there really is no difference. WH'ers just get jealous because we get better results, although we take bigger risks.

To be honest, Google looks at any type of off-page SEO as blackhat because manually building links is wrong in their opinion.

Therefore, in Google's eyes:

Blackhat = off-page SEO
Whitehat = on-page SEO (such as the proper use of meta tags, alt tags on images, H1 tags, organized and easy navigation, quality content, etc)

Not entirely correct, certain on-page SEO techniques, the most infamous being keyword stuffing, would be black hat in Googliath's eyes.

And that's the point, it's blackhat if you don't follow Googliath's ever changing rules and those rules are there to protect the results of their SERP and Adword fortunes. Do no wrong my ass!

So I say !@#$ Googliath and let it all hang out! Be smart and just don't get caught! :D

The Answer is its different from one to one. And it doesn't really matter. U do what u feel is good to ur site and don't give a shit to the names as neither google nor anyone else cares anyway. It's the results what we care about ;)
 
Black hat seo by using unethical techniques like having hidden text & links in web page, keyword stuffing, duplicate content, making doorway pages for website.
White hat seo is an ethical tricks according to quality guidelines of Google.
 
There is no difference, really. These terms were invented to presell you a state of mind:

- good, evil
- white wizard, black wizard

But just like with the examples above everything is in the eyes of the beholder. For the beholder named Google anything you do off-page is considered black hat.
 
Black hat SEO is all the activity which google calls blackhat.
White hat SEO is all the rest (now it shrinked down to just lying and praying for links to come).
