Lets talk seriously now. What's the big difference? They all provide the same..

Article directories:

Your own article / related to your niche.
High PR.
High DA/PA.

Web2.0:
Your own articles / related to your niche.
High PR
High DA/PA

PBN:
Your own articles/ related to your niche.
High PR
High DA/PA

Now what I'm saying is... What's the difference? I mean I know there are differences but why are some so much more valuable than others if those 3 have pretty much the same value in theory?

Articles are just articles.

Web 2.0 in SEO means, in layman's terms, a free blog service that points to your site for SEO benefit.

PBN: Private Blog Network. A network of blogs you own to pass loads of link juice to your sites for SEO benefits. The end.

Your link can be in every single one of them . Articles , Web2.0 and PBN. I know what they are I want to know whats the difference if you have your link in each one of them and what makes the links much more powerful on a PBN than a web2.0 and article directory.

The link juice still passes regardless of it being on a article directory, web2.0 or PBN as long as your link is there

You don't really know what a PBN is, do you?

Yes I do , why? How about you answer my questions instead of coming here trying to act like a smart ass because if you wanna be a smart ass you can go elsewhere.

PBN puts your article on the page that actually has a high PR for some weeks (homepage).

What is usually called PBN has the advantage that you own it or you have agreed with the owner that he will not delete your links and usually crawlers like Majestic and ahrefs will be blocked making it more difficult for competitors to discover your links. The disadvantage is the cost of setup or the cost of paying to get the links.

Article directories and Web 2.0 can be deleted at the whim of the owner and the links will likely be indexed in Majestic/Ahrefs and others similar to these so it will usually be easy to discover where your links are coming from. The advantage is that they are trivial to create and replace.

But you are correct in terms of SEO there is no difference. Its just that some people get a warm glowy feeling inside when they say PBN.

Not a difference ? How about all the article directories are spammed to death and everyone knows by now that if someone writes an article there with a link back to a money site, it screams: "I am doing SEO and manipulating the search results" ? Same with Web 2.0-s but on a more lower level (meaning their link juice hasn't dropped in "power" as much as article directories did and IMO they will always count as major contextual backlinks).

PBN - whole new level. When some site A links to a site B and there is no connection between these 2 sites (or at least in public's eyes there isn't) it screams "Natural backlinking".
Now tell me, who will Google favor more - the natural High PA/DA/PR links or the spammed to death directories ?

But don't take my word for it, make a test case: blast directories/web 2.0/PBN directly to your money sites (3 different sites) and see the result.
My prediction is: 1st site that was blasted with directories most probably will get penalized, 2nd one with web 2.0 will move up in the SERP-s significantly (providing you did backlinking from them the right way) and 3rd one with PBN-s will just shoot up in the 1st page with as little as 10-20 links (also depends on the competition).

well said Just invest in some expired domain and get Some cheap dollar hosting per each domain. Done stop being Cheap :-)

Pbns can have high trust and authority if you purchase the right one. The home page links are very strong. Web 2.0s are on a subdomain, which is a negative ranking factor. However, they still have the domain authority and you can build contextual links. They still need heavy spam to make them decent...and you won't have the trusted links going to it.

The very best article directories like ezines. They have no where near the domain authority of say, wordpress.com. Plus you would still have to spam them to death to make them carry any weight...I'm not sure on this but I think google might even consider links in the author box less valuable.

Hard to find high pr expired domain with decent DA/PA that isn't faked.
And the ones you find usually are on auctions and cost a shitload

Its really about diversity. So use them all.

Stop whining because money won't fall from the sky.
Start with web 2.0 and make your way up to buying those domains that "cost a shitload".
It takes money to make money!

No difference at all except as outlined in my post alread. But you carry on saying PBN. I can see you get nice warm glowing feeling inside by doing that.

LOL you haven't ranked a site till this day, have you ?!
Suit yourself, don't come crying then why you haven't ranked or the next animal update fucked your sites up.

Your own article - simply an article with a reference to your website.
Web 2.0 - a free blogging platform
PBN - hosted solution. Completely under your control in terms of links, anchors and robots access.

The only difference among those are QUALITY. I.E. The quality of backlink which you got from these sites. It depends upon the authority of the sites make your links more powerful.

Can someone elaborate on this?
