Difference between 404 error page and broken links?

    Hello everyone,

    I know what is 404 error page and broken links.But i don't know the difference between them.Is there any difference ?If yes then please give your feedback?

    I think, 404 error is not permanent, you just attempted to load or request a page but the server or the site cannot find it. Whereas to Broken Links, they are dead links(permanent).

    404 error mostly happens when you request to load or open a broken links. So the difference between them, is 404 = not permanent and broken links=permanent unavailable.
