i saw some guy somewhere say that once the network realizes ur leads does not convert they ban u. that made me wonder, i thought leads = conversion? for example email submit form.. if u get a lead then its a conversion also right? im confused

A lead would be someone who may come to your web site and interact with you in some way. The most obvious is subscribing to your RSS Feed or signing up to your eNewsletter. But they haven't "bought" anything. Some will also say having someone subscribe to your RSS Feed or Email is also a conversion, and I guess you could make a case for that. And, it depends on your goals. If your goal is to build your RSS subscribers and/or email subscribers then seeing folks respond to your call to action to become so would be a conversion. But, if you think of terms of a web site's purpose is to spread the word about your products and services and get someone to buy something, then you're probably looking at measuring visitors who become leads via engagement and nurturing activities until they finally convert into a sale.

A lead is a prospective buyer and a conversion is a prospect that actually purchases the product or service.

a lead is like an interested person of a service/product. a conversion is that interested person going on and actually buying the service/product.

for example...email submits for free ipad

someone might be using bh methods to get someone to sumbit their emails. (iframing)

you will get paid for the leads by the cpa network at first. after a while since none of the leads you generated is converting for the advertiser (they arent converting because they had no idea why they were submitting their email for free ipad) the advertiser will complain to the cpa network that you are sending bogus leads.

hope that helps.
