I uploaded a video yesterday(on my main account not for monetizing or anything), I showed it to my friends on my Nokia(with mobile app and directly from mobile site). When I got back home I noticed that view count is still 2(should have been about 10), views were always updating even when watched through VLC or QuickTime, then I watched/reloaded the video several times in PC browser and views updated, so what the fuck is up with mobile thing?
Is it because of resent buzz about views thing on BHW?

Did they completely stop counting mobile views?
Or did they implement the new algorithm to verify Mobile views?

Can anybody shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance.

I just think it's problems with YouTube. I can't see them changing the verifying algorithm because it's not like the views count towards monetization and that to start with. Every YouTube knows that their system isn't the best, and it's just another annoying thing us producers have to put up with.

they probably just beefed up the algorthym so that it doesn't even count real views, but i guess that's better than getting 100m views in 24 hours.

Its similar with what very popular videos that get a lot a view in a short period of time get.

That kind of videos that somehow have 50000 likes and 1500 comments but only 301 views. Its a bug as far as I know. I wonder why don't they fix this already.

Mobile views are stored on another server which sends the views to the main YouTube server every 24 hours, so it is not instant. They still count mobile views.

As he said

They did something so it hardly count any of them anymore. Which kinda sucks :(

I'm 100% certain mobile views were updating instantly(till ~300) about a month ago.
But looks like after someone:rolleyes: sent gazillion mobile views to one video they're trying to verify mobile views also.

It's always been like that regarding instant update to 300. Not sure about recently, but you could refresh your browser till it hit 300, of course you'd then be stuck. I'm inclined to believe SpK on this and I wouldn't worry if I were you.

From what I know the youtube mobile views are counted once a day so just wait 24 hours and it should add the views.

We're talking bout MOBILE views here not browser views, plus i'm not worried about it(I don't give a shit) I'm just discussing the matter.

Again I'm 100% certain mobile views were updating instantly about a month ago.
Maybe it was doing so only for short period of time but it was...

I'm 90% sure that's part of the verification process.
