haha, this is hilarious!
I just posted the other day after having been struck by lightning over 6 months ago. Last 6 months many of my sites have been losing ranking every update. Just going further and further down. Not all my sites but 3-4 of them have then since 2 days ago seen massive increases in ranking. I mean not 100% back to the usual, but around 80-90% + some new keywords that I have been trying to rank barely nothing had happened.
These 4 sites 3 of em have had nothing done to them for 6 months except perhaps some internal updates to articles etc..
Heres the new one that tanked the most (earnings down 80% due to the ranking drops):

You can see both 13th and 14th had a couple of ups, then today it seems some have gone down probably to find its spot up again. and some have pushed up again too.
This is basically all the keywords I am tracking. This site is at +2500 in rankings positions "this week".
Cheer up boys, you may tank and have to wait a half a year+ to get back to where you were. But eventually, with some slow and steady updates, you'll get back. As long as you don't give up. I just poured more time into other non-website incomes to diversify so I wasn't hit as hard next time shit hit the fan. I've been relying on Google putting my sites high in Serch for years, not going to do it anymore as they've almost put me out of my misery multiple times

This is basically one of the main keywords and this pattern is on almost all keywors except one page that had so many authoritative/newspaper links that Google would never have touched it

This site was started around feb-18 and I was off to a fucking rocking start until August. Just after I've canceled my lease on our apartment and decided to move abroad with the family and try the nomad life. Well, a shitty few months in Spain was a hell of a lot better than a few shitty months in Sweden

I don't follow algorithms as I believe they are there all the time.. But there was definitely a change this month (first from +2 years). I spend last day analyzing it.
For me, it was apparent Rank Brain weight was reduced a lot. Articles ranking for keywords which isn't mentioned in the title were dropped. Websites with separate posts for LTK dominated. Basically, it looked like we are in 2011 all over again.
I am going to overoptimize my articles 2day as I took massive hit in revenue.

I am agree with you also heavy backlinks sites got ranking again

Same note here .. Number of backlinks has too much weight and it's very apparent in all the keywords. Specially, domain authority, I see many tweets appearing in first page and top 5 !!
I can't believe what is happening.. Looks like keyword stuffing + Over-optimization + Ton of backlinks are the way to go now!!!
The site I linked above does not have an insane amount of links pointing to it. Nor is it over optimized, probably under optimized when it comes to keywords.
Sure on-page is splendid but keyword density is really low.
Dunno what happened but many of my sites saw a good improvement after losing a great amount back in August.

Diversified, a few long tail keyword anchors but mainly naked/brand.

Yes!!! My blogs DA increased.... So with right On page SEO and quality backlinks one could enjoy safe blogging regardless of the google updates.
