I don't use that plugin, but you can try seoquake which is similar, instead of doing things manually.

turn off google instant in your search settings, am actually finding it kinda annoying anyway

or

if you want to keep google instant turned on - install the google toolbar and do the search via that...

Can't believe I didn't think of that.

And I agree, it is annoying. It makes my browser freeze for a few seconds, and it also sometimes displays blank results and I have to click "search" again in order to get the results to display.
