Many of us are losing traffic. Maybe because there's a change in the way group boards are being treated. I was just checking my account analytics and non-groups have taken over the top boards that are showing my pins. And these non-groups are small (less than 50 pins, a few dozen followers). The group boards I used to rely on are being outshined by a long shot, something like 2xxxxx to 3xxxx impressions.

My traffic is not going down. It's stagnating, despite my consistent pinning to group boards. But most of existing traffic are from pins that have already gone viral. Ultimately though, success in Pinterest is making your pins go viral. Hence, testing a pin's shareability is a must. I used to drip newly created pins on group boards over a couple of weeks and get an idea of their effectiveness. With these perceived changes, it's practically impossible to do that now.

Read around online and some bloggers are observing that group boards with a few dozen contributors are seeing an uptick in engagements while boards with 500 or more contributors are being hit.

What are you seeing in your analytics? Traffic?

How many accounts do you run? I am seeing some good progress and traffic with 1 master and 25 supporting accounts.

I simply pin my pins, and repin other people. My supporting accounts then repin my boards and it makes my master account look pretty good and active. And, probably due to some psycho shit, other real users also repin me more (when they see lots of repins on all of my boards).

I have 10+ accounts. 3 are tied to my money sites. The others are pinning/repinning. All accounts are members of various group boards. Most of them are growing their own group boards.

I take it that you're not relying on group boards for traffic. Sounds like I'll need to reset my strategy so that I'm less reliant on them as well.

It's normal for my traffic to dip on weekdays and go up on weekends. How's your traffic since Feb? Trending up, down? That's when many bloggers are observing a change in group boards.

I haven't even messed with Pinterest in almost a year and a few days ago I got a bunch of traffic from one of my pins and made almost $200. But the traffic vanished just as fast as it came.

More signs pointing to Pinterest continuously tweeking their algo. And it's done very often. Almost every week it seems. And making that much with a short burst of traffic, you must have a really good landing page. I hope you're pointing other traffic sources to that page. Is it a CPA, by any chance? I'm looking for ways to up my income. Adsense is not enough.

I mean about the number of accounts, hours of working, etc.

I've been at it since 2013. I caught the tail end of spamfest that saw homefeeds littered with weightloss offers. Probably why they have a punishing anti-spam filter. Hence, the majority of my 14 accounts are over 2 years old. 3 websites are tied to 3 of the accounts which are business. A long time ago, I spent 2 months straight getting these accounts into as many group boards as possible. Most are in my niche, which is food. I also make original content. Not as efficient, but seems to work for me. A few has gone viral receiving over 20K repins throughout Pinterest, according to new repin count. These pins are each pulling 500+ views/day. After seeing these results, my goal has been to create a lot more viral pins. So testing is crucial.

Nowadays, using my own scripts (Imacro), here's what I do daily with a random fraction of my accounts:
    - Pin a total of @20 of my content and pin/repin 30-50 others per account. The pins/repins are mix of my boards and group boards.
    - Like 30-50/account. Follow Board 30-50/account. Follow Profile 30-50/account. The idea behind this is to be seen more in the upper right dropdown.

30-50 is a randomness I put in place to avoid clear footprints. Something many botters seem to not understand.

If I get around it, with the accounts not pinning, I'll clean up and grow my group boards.

Prior to these perceived changes, it was easy to test new pins simply by dripping them into group boards over a period of a few days to weeks. Within a month, I'll know whether or not that pin will go viral. Now, it looks impossible.

Is your method still holding up?

Holiday's, Seasons, Algorithm updates + other minor tweaks seem to be the reason.

Either adapt, do the same if it worked before / twist it a bit and you should be good to go.
