Did IG algorithm become more tough recently?

I saw some big fashion accounts (over 200K) dropping their followers to half/day in the past one week. Also, their posted pics' engagement drop too. It seems IG intends to tighter the algorithm and wants to limit the growth of moderate accounts further. Very few accounts keep the same grow pace but they do have the highest engagement all the time compared to similar niches accounts. Any thoughts/observation?

About a month ago. Both IG and FB did change something on their algorithm.

I'm still trying to figure it out. One page has gone back to normal reach. I think they temporarily black listed a ton of pages then hand checked one by one. I could literally tell when they let one of my clean pages through after their manual review, reach came back, etc.

What do you mean hand check? What they are trying to check?

my 2nd account lost 800 followers today (13k)

it always keeps changing, however my account is experience an exponential growth. Maybe the algorithm is changed in my favour haha

Nobody can figure out the algo. When there are winners, there are also loosers.

Some of mine start growing very well, while others have a dramatic decline, while both groups get the same treatment (70+ powerlikes / 10M+ followerbase). Had one that was bleeding off a few users per day (from 2k+ to -100, can you imagine) for a week and just out of nothing it gets hitting hard again.

It's about crossing your fingers nowadays.

What are your settings? ;)
my main (59k) grows 1.1k all organically per day, never used a bot. However my second account I only use like (1.2k a day) I figured follow/unfollow doesnt really work for me. Maybe it doesnt work because of the algorithm change. But there was a thread last couple of day with some basic tips, which were helpful.

my main grows so quick because I really pay attention to the quality of the post, timing and use a good caption. First is was quantity > quality, but since I changed it to quality > quantity I grow pretty quick

may I ask how much those powerlike cost on average? I saw an acount in my niche grow from scratch to growing 2k+ a day in no time. But I notice he was getting likes and comments from like 50 influencers in the same niche. I maybe want to start buying powerlikes aswell, but im curious of the average price.

Those are probably all owned by the same person.

that would be very unlikely as they are people from all over the world, but maybe he takes care of their insta accounts. Guess we will never know haha

one thing we know for sure, that those powerlikes and comments work

well, they are removing all suspicious accounts, thats the reason followers are depleting.
for those who are experiencing a recent growth in followers, yours will be delepeted too.

I agree. It is really hard to figure out the exact algorithm. And figuring out 99% and 100% makes big difference. Wish we could keep fighting with them to get some major insights. At least, we get what want to achieve.
