Don't really feel like writing right now but could really do with some help.. I'll just sum up the situation in bullet points.

  • My hosting plan offers unlimited domains/websites whatever
  • Bought a new domain and was installing wordpress
  • Install is complete.. after a while I go to my main site but it looks like a fresh install of wordpress (I assume its a mistake since the fresh install is also showing on my new domain)
  • I realise I must have installed a fresh wordpress on my main domain also. Seems like all data has been lost.

Hope I explained it well enough, just really want some help with this so I'm kind of rushing. I've added domains before and this is the first time this has happened.

I'm not familiar with the File Manager or FTP on my cPanel, but I'm assuming I can restore a back-up version of my site or something?

Have contacted support but they probably won't reply for 24 hours at least.. really hope there's something I can do, put so much work into this site.

Thanks in advance for any input

All your data is stored in your mySQL database. You just have to change the wp-config.php to your database details that you previously had. If it's true you wiped the site with a fresh install you'll have to reinstall the plugins and theme.

Thanks for the reply. I opened the MySQL database but not really quite sure what to do, I updated the support ticket anyway so hopefully they can help a bit too.

Good to know I can retrieve the data though, thought I'd have to start all over again.

get in touch with your host provider that will be the best option in this situation. if you have no experience in restoring the backup database. they will charge a small fee or maybe do it for free.
