Did I waste my time learning python?

Should've learned Javascript instead to be honest, but if you're into AI Python is good at that, else if you want to get into web development, Python might not be the best option, other languages have better solutions than what Python can offer.

IMO, no learning is ever wasted. Every skill, every bit of knowledge, it all adds up. Even that random crappy eBook you skimmed might drop a nugget of wisdom when you least expect it.

So, my two cents? Keep up with Python, but if JavaScript is calling your name, give it a shot. The broader your skills are, the better you'll be @ freelancing.
 
It’s never a waste of time expanding your knowledge and learning new things. Always remember that knowledge is power. And to become successful in life you need to be willing to keep learning new things no matter what.

So no learning Python is definitely not a waste of time, from there keep learning, keep progressing and expanding your skills as this will only further you and allow you to keep building up that foundation. When you have the skill set to be able to learn different languages of coding nothing is impossible.

Grasping the initial concepts of coding languages and algorithms is so valuable, if needed, you will find it much easier to learn your next language due to python being your base language as it was for me as well. My short-lived python programming assisted me greatly in learning full stack JS web dev. Never regret learning!
 
Do you have any certain goal for what are you learning? because when you are switching from python(django) to react it`s pretty weird...You wanna create backend or frontend? Fullstack applications? Just focus on what you wanna archieve with your techstack, technologies itself are just a tools to implement your ideas

Honestly I am just picking a random path and walk it down to get to efficiency, I got input overload and everyone just told me a the opposite of the previous person. Just look at this thread. Some voices encourage me, others tell me I should ahve went with JS instead....

So I stopped asking, picked a course, and started. Now I am at the beginning of a web developer course, which gives me the basics of html and css, shouldn't take long, and then it starts with django and similar.

I am not a creative guy, I don't think I can make pretty websites, so I probably will go with back end development. Then I can do some jobs (hopefully) in the field over fiverr and earn me an income like that. I am sure over time I will definitely change what I do, but currently it's just about the first proficiency to earn a little money.

If I fancy I can always learn something on the side while I do that, because my current income is very, very unstable and I am very stressed with the uncertainty of income. Currently I earn enough money to get by, but who knows if I still have clients next month? Fiverr sucks, it's so unreliable. 1,5 years ago I had 9 thousand impressions in a day and more clients than I could possibly work for, 6 months later, I had 50 impressions in a day and got by with 2 longterm clients, which came back for the same project over and over, then they concluded their projects, I was out of work for 2 months and literally when I was on my last 100, my impressions went up to a 1k a day, I got a few clients again, now I am at 100 impressions a day.

And when I talk about impressions, I am talking about average, I know it fluctuates a little when it works, but not atm....

I didn't try new gigs, it's the same gigs taht went so well before.


So yeah. All I want is a skill that is worth a damn. With that in mind: Want to learn backend and work with that. And I will change over to upwork and try my luck there.

Btw u said yr guy who is not creative and u chose coding as main job. But if you get tired of coding, you can try ityou can try UX design. This is about creating interfaces, but the work is absolutely analytical, which is ideal for people with such a mindset.

There are a lot of technologies and tools to help you find what you like. I'm not going to say that Javascipt is better than Python, because these things are used in different ways. The only thing is that knowledge of Javascript will help you work on both front-end and back-end development. With Python, you won't have this option, but you will be able to work with other things like artificial intelligence, for example.
I work with Javascript and various frameworks on the frontend, and I can say that learning it is not as hard as it seems. As for creativity, if you work for a company, there will be designers there, and you just have to recreate the layout with code. And when you work on pet projects, you can always find a certain layout or lesson and repeat the styles from there.
 
I'm trying to learn how to make apps too.. after being a graphic designer for 12 years(2D/3D) won't reveal my real name and articles bout me and show that work. but let's just say that... Since the July I been learning python and got to understand that language pretty alrighty. Iv'e made a few terminal tools with menus and ASCII stuff's using FlowGPT.com, VScode, GitHub Copilot and more... I could post them actually on Github or something in the next weeks. But where I'm trying to go is... I would like to make desktop and mobile apps (compatible for Win, MacOS & Linux). So after a while of practicing python scripts and tools. I've decided to start learning HTML, CSS, Javascript, Node JS, Electron and more web development related stuff. What I can say now, is that I am kinda lost in all of this... :/ the html & css I don't mind really really it's not that confusing with the stylesheets, guide and more but Im stuck on the functions of the app like the login (using java) and the 2nd window that comes up here is a example: https://streamable.com/a4uvf7 for the most part I've used Figma for the UI... the rest should be a classic "proxy scraper and checker" but with modern and nice UI and a few features here and there.

I am a self-taught learner who relies on YouTube videos and experimentation to enhance my skills. I find Python more appealing than JavaScript or HTML, for instance.

I had dedicated years to building my Instagram account and providing graphic design services to rappers, producers, and record labels. Unfortunately, on June 6th, 2023, my account was hacked while attempting to obtain Magic Bullet Looks for a client project. Dealing with multiple hacked accounts and only being able to recover a few was quite frustrating.

However, this incident ignited a strong curiosity and obsession within me to explore the world of hacking. I have been devoting a significant amount of time, almost 24/7, to learn various hacking techniques and expand my knowledge in this domain.

I am excited for the future as I continue learning, improving my development skills, and eventually creating my own software. Good luck on your own adventure.

Yeah, Meta is horrible to deal with. I once had my facebook account hacked even though I had two factor verification on. To this day I still don't know how they got my password as it was completely randomly generated by google, no other accounts have been breached either. I suspect through my email account but not sure.

Meta though doesn't even have a contact point for you to get anything done, just a stupid system that sends you in circles and never resolves or even fully acknowledges your issue. I don't remember how I got it back, but it took months. So can't imagine the stress you had when your business is connected.
 
If you want to learn about web pages, you can use python to learn the fastapi framework, which is relatively simple compared to django.

I have never read fastapi before. Heard of it, yes, but Django and Flask are the ones that come up most.
 
Honestly Python might be the best language I've ever learnt. It's so versatile and it's my go to language if I need to automate any kind of task.
I think every language has it's benefits, maybe you haven't found the right purpose for Python yet :)

it was not waist learnjng python. It has demand and opportunities. You have to market it amd sell it. Its the most important part
