Did I target the wrong keyword?

Hi Guys

I just managed to rank on page 1 (#8) of google, but unfortunately, there's only 1 or 2 clicks a day to my site for the past few days.


Broad Match
Global Monthly Searches : 110000
Local Monthly Searches : 9900


Exact Match
Global Monthly Searches : 6600
Local Monthly Searches : 1600


1) Do you think I targeted the wrong keyword?

2) Should I continue with the keyword and try to make it to #1? Or should I give it up as this is a hopeless keyword?

Please enlighten me so that I can learn from my mistakes.

For that lvl of exact match searches you have to get in the top 3 to actually see some traffic.... 8th place will bring you small to nothing traffic. Continue to optimeze your site(SEO) and you will be fine if the competition isnt to difficult.

Yep, I second that . If you are not in top 3, it is really hard to get any traffic. Ofcourse it depend what appearence as results in the others 7 positions. For example, if your keyword was " buy diet soda " and in the 1th position appearence amazon, in the second ebay, even if you are in 4th position, you will not get any visitor.
In my own experience, I have a keyword that gave me 90 hits per day when is in 1th position and only give me around 20 when is in 3th position.
