Did I choose a bad keyword My first site ever!

OK I got at keyword then got the domain with the keyword in it. Made a website got to number 7 in Google(started on page 2).

But I don't think my keyword is going to pull anyone to my site. B/c no one is looking for it.

Keyword Broad | Global Monthly Searches=2,900 | Local Monthly Searches=1,600
Keyword [Exact] | Global Monthly Searches=12 | Local Monthly Searches=<10
Keyword "Phrase" | Global Monthly Searches=110 | Local Monthly Searches=46

Did I do my keyword research wrong and am I up a short creek and just crape this site and get a new keyword. And if so what should i be looking at? I am really new at this but any help would be very very appreciated.

Doesn't seem like the best keyword but you could somewhat make it work. PM me and I will get you a great keyword.

I'm so far not really successful with MNS but I'd say you messed up yeah.

12 exact searches isn't good. You should choose keywords with atleast 1000 exact searches.

Pretty much Yes you did. As noted your exact search is only 12 and that is the one that matters. Do not feel too bad through you are not the first and will not be the last to make that mistake. I did the same with a couple of my early sites and it really sucked getting to #1 and realizing I was not going to make as much money as I thought.

Before you call it a complete loss run your keyword and see if you can get some related ones with more searches that you can add to the site. Chances are you can find a couple with some decent if not great search numbers and then you can just add some more content and rank those.

As the other members are saying mate, don't feel too bad.

The first 4 domains that I purchased I didn't even DO keyword research on, so you're well ahead of where I was

Whenever I search for keywords, the first thing I do (after clicking 'Exact' on GKT,) is look at the traffic. It's mighty tempting to see a very achieveable keyword and dream of that glorious #1 spot, but if you achieve it and only pull in 500 visitors a month then you're not going to make money.

Look at it this way: you're at a bar and you see two girls. One is absolutely your type and the other has 3 heads. You're not going to walk up and have a crack at old tri-head just because you think it'll be easier to succeed, are you?

Take some time, take another look at some keywords and don't go for anything below 2500 global searches a month. That's my general rule of thumb. As for your other domain, just let it age and marinate. When you've got more IM experience under your belt, you'll be able to turn back to it and maybe breath some life into it yet. At least that's what I plan to do with my 4 dud domains

Ok I have found a new keyword can someone plz help me and tell me if I should go after this KW or will it be another dud.

intitle and inurl = 9
intile = 20
inurl = 8
"Keyword" = About 6,840 results
"keyword" &start=990 = Page 4 of 35 results
I have 2 pic also. would this keyword be able to make money? or am I looking at it wrong? If so what else should I be looking at?

Is the search volume on your screesnhot 2 for exact or broad match?

Just as a general rule you don't need to look at competition as much as searches. There's no point in beating the competition if nobody's searching it.

You basically want to look at 2 things before anything else.

Global Monthly Searches > 1000
CPC > $1

I did a search again today and now it only shows 1300 exact and $0.27 approximate cpc why is it so different today?

cut the losses dump the site and start again from scratch !! Always Target 1000+ exact searches, only less in some very special cases.

Sorry m8 low competion 0.27$ even with 1300 exact searches is crap.

Just move on, and learn from mistakes
