Did HTTPS help your rankings at all?

For me it has no difference at all, it's just HTTPS is more secure and the safer version of it, in regards to encryption, authentication, and data integrity. According to Google, HTTPS users will have a "small ranking benefit" because of its security aspects.
 
No difference for me at all no matter if I am using https or not.
 
I've tested it but never did see a boost that I could pinpoint to having https over http. It may be a small part of it but if your SEO isn't on point any how then simply adding an ssl cert
isn't going to do anything for you. It should be a part of your overall strategy but it won't necessarily put you a position ahead of where you already are.
 
Lets think logically.
Https is needed to secure the information. Not all information have to be secured, only that type of information which definitely have to be protected (credit card information, orders any type of confidential inf. etc ).
Why the hell https have to boost the rankings for your blog where there is no information which have to be secured?

As a result, I believe, this is the reason why https factor "affecting fewer than 1% of global queries" - cause all sites don't have to use https, only some of them.
 
Typically an SSL certificate is for maintaining PCI compliance, and the security of your website.

It is not a myth, Google declared that they will count HTTPS as a ranking signal. But it is also true that not a lot of people have seen any difference with HTTPS. I think the ranking signal is not 'very high', but still Google counts it.
 
No, the HTTPS is rather minor signal compared to other 200+ ranking signals. I won't even bother adding HTTPS unless your site contains sensitive information.
 
Google says it does. I believe Google -- why would they lie on something like that?

However, there's so many factors to consider that I don't think you could ever pin down how big a factor it is. The lack of HTTPS in SERPs is probably lack of people going HTTPS.

why wouldn't they? they are fighting that grand battle to make the internet a better place (to earn money for them). but for e-commerce it absolutely makes sense
 
I haven't seen any improvements in ranking solely based on https/http. At most, in my opinion it makes users have a bit more trust. Some say yes, some say no. I think mileage will vary.
 
You won't see any ranking changes yet. However, considering Google's position on encrypting everything, chances are, your non-encrypted pages will eventually see a decrease in ranking. Especially since Google almost forced encryption on HTTP/2. They have big plans regarding data security.

Now that free encryption is available to everyone with Let's Encrypt, don't be a lazy ass, get a SSL certificate. It isn't that hard.
