Did Google rollback it's caffeine update? How fast are your rankings going up?

I think it's the overall G-algorithm that is being updated - they always redefine how they see a quality link and this gets updated very often, as they know that is the primary area people will take advantage of when wanting to manipulate the SERP ranking.
So if suddenly all the links that you have been using, doesn't push you up any longer - I think that's probably they have taken the linkjuice away in a way.
But one thing for sure - if authority is built and accumulated over time, this is much more sustainable in getting better ranks in the long term - thus, maybe you should also take a closer look in the aspect of bumping up your site's authority in the process as well.

I only build high authority/quality links.. that's what I've been reiterating throughout this thread. What I'm seeing is that my "lower scale" quality links (still good TF / DA but not supremely high) don't even make a single dent on any rankings or movement, and as soon as I build a supremely strong DA / TF link that is extremely costly, I see some movement, but for the last two-three years I could build a range from both the mid scale DA / TF quality to very high and both factored in very nicely.

There are also times where I'm building extremely high quality links and they don't move the needle at all, so it just feels super random right now in terms of what is actually impacting upwards movement for particular keywords, again, this is coming from someone who gets to survey across many clients and see their results move up in accordance/correlation with link building over the past decade, so I have a lot of history to look back on and observe, and as we're seeing in this thread I'm not the only one noticing this slowdown in how quickly rankings are moving up.

Taking 3-4 months to see links getting factored toward keywords moving up reminds me of pre-penguin days, the Penguin refreshes and all the algo updates made everything much more real-time, where links had an immediate impact on ranking movement, and now it 'feels' like we're reverting.

From your own experience would you say when you're link building right now you're seeing keywords pop/move up quickly?
